This works by light being selectively absorbed by melanin, the pigment in the hair follicle. The light energy heats the pigment and effectively destroys the hair follicle without damaging the surrounding cells.

Treatments are suitable for most hair colours although we cannot treat blonde, grey or white hair. Best results are achieved with dark hair on light skin. Treatments cannot be carried out if you have a suntan or have used fake tan within 4 weeks of your appointment. Only hair that is actively growing is affected therefore multiple treatments are needed, typically 6 or more depending on the area. Treatments are spaced at 4 to 8 week intervals.

Prior to treatment you must first undergo a consultation to obtain your medical history and determine suitability. If you are suitable for treatment you will then be asked to sign a consent form and undergo a test patch. Your Technician will then advise you when you can commence your treatments.
